Why stories

The historian and philosopher Yuval Noah Harari describes storytelling as the outstanding ability that defines Homo sapiens. Money, nations, religions, science – they all work because many people share the same narrative.

What began around the campfire and lived on in books is told today through image and sound – more powerfully than ever. And the internet carries these stories to millions of people at once and connects them with one another. We are one small wheel in all this – and we tell our part as well as we can.

How we work

We develop projects from the first idea to the final cut and see them through to their audience. Our films are mostly international co-productions – with partners and financing in Europe and beyond.

Film is both an art and a craft – and few crafts have changed as much over the past decades. We have been part of this change from the very beginning, for many years with our own post-production, from offline editing to visual effects and grading.

That has given us experience you cannot learn from brochures: virtual production and digital effects make many things easier and better – and yet sometimes a model or a built set is the better solution. We make that call before the shoot – not when it starts getting expensive.

We are interested in stories that are understood across borders – in every genre. For us, a film is made by a team: with clear leadership and with people on an equal footing in every department. We prefer to work with people for whom the film matters more than self-promotion.
